اذا طلب منك صديقين أن تحكم بينهما في نزاع، لا نقبل، لأنك سوف تفقد صديق واحد، ومن ناحية أخرى، إذا طلبا اثنين من الغرباء نفس الطلب، اقبل لأنك سوف تكسب صديق.

ماذا يشبه الحب ؟ أن لديه ايدي لمساعدة الآخرين. ان لديه قدم تسارع الى الفقراء والمحتاجين. ان لديه عيون لترى البؤس والعوز. ان لديه آذان لسماع تنهدات وأحزان الناس. هذا هو وصف الحب.

من يستطيع رسم مختلف القوى التى تتحرك في روح واحدة؟ الانسان هو عمق كبير، يا رب. ان شعر رأسه أسهل كثيرا ان يحصى من احصاء مشاعره، و تحركات قلبه.

تسأل عن الاستحقاق فلا تجد سوى العقاب و تسأل عن النعمة قيا لعمق غنى الله
(اي انه حينما نطلب من الله فليكن ذلك استنادا الى نعمته المجانية و ليس استحقاقنا)
اراك الهي ناظرا اليّ على الدوام. تتطلع اليّ و كأني وحدك موضوع حبك، تسهر عليّّ و كأنك نسيت الخليقة كلها
